Jessie, our 8 year old English Springer Spaniel, is Richard, Sr's constant companion. She loves to ride and even flies in the airplanes but officially she serves as office assistant and chief customer greeter (well, mostly she just sleeps on the couch). Jessie keeps unruly dogs at bay and stray cats on the run!! Jessie loves everybody and we have customers that come by just to see her. She is a good dog! |

The story behind our logo…..
Our logo represents our current business interests which includes both motorcycle and aviation products. The logo has special meaning for us and is more than just a simple graphic design.
The center hub of the wheel shows the initials of the founder and owner of our company, Richard Lane, Sr. The background of the hub is blue which represents Richard, Sr's 20+ years of service to his state and community as a police officer. No surprise blue is his favorite color! The spoked motorcycle wheel represents Richard, Sr’s service as a motor patrol office during his law enforcement days. Really, the wheel was a natural selection for our business logo.
The gold wings of the logo have special meaning. These wings represent not only the freedom of riding and flying (and of course the business we are in) but also the fact that the Lanes are a family of pilots with hard earned pilot's licenses for both Richard, Sr and his late father, James W. Lane. A logo designed for a Lane family business had to include pilot wings of some design!
The gold wings seen in the logo are the same wings that are presented to all US Navy, US Marine Corps, and US Coast Guard aviators (which include the shield and anchor of course). These wings were specifically selected to honor Richard, Sr's late brother Commander Gregory Ben Lane, USN. Gregory Lane was a graduate of the US Naval Academy and a US Navy aviator who proudly wore the Navy wings of gold as a fighter pilot for many years. Commander Lane, killed while in service of his country, now rests at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC.
We would like our wings logo to serve in memory of not only a lost family member and a fine naval officer, but for all Navy aviators and those that currently serve in our armed forces. |
